Los Angeles Temple
The initial chapel was on Lobo Street, in the house of Mrs. Julia Lobo, where the few neighbors gathered to celebrate the Eucharist. Later, a wooden chapel was built near this house in 1922. Sacristan Ricardo Chavarría recalls that the neighbors on the side of Calle Arroyo (now Calle al Monte de la Cruz), when the Bermúdez River flowed high, they could not cross the path to Calle Lobo and missed the solemn mass. Therefore, a board of neighbors was formed to buy a new piece of land from Don Pedro Diego Ramirez for 500 colones.
On August 5, 1951, the first stone of the church was laid on the new site, which was completed in 1954. The building is oriented from north to south and the street that crosses its southern part was baptized "La Paz Street", since it commemorates the union of the neighbors of Lobo and Arroyo Streets.
The majestic calvary dates from 1933. It was in the chapel at the foot of Monte de la Cruz and was moved by Father Salas in the seventies to the church of Los Angeles.
